attending, teaching and participating with two important school events every year. The
Christmas Carnival and their Special Basketball Game. We also buy medals for all kids who
participate in the basketball game and flags, pins, and other patriotic items for all

8. Canton Veterans Memorial and Canton Memorial Service.
Photo of the Memorial and 10 photos taken at the 2010 Memorial Day Service. Included is a
listing of all KIA/POW/MIAs of: Civil War, WWII, Vietnam War, Iraq War, and Afghanistan
War.
9. Car Show For Vets. On August 7, 2010, a special Car
Show for Vets was held. Check out the 17 photos from the event. During 2011, another
special Car Show For Vets will be held.
10. Car Wash "Main Street Auto Wash 2011" An Annual Event
and one of our year's best fund raisers. 38 photos of chapter members are posted.
13. Cell Phones For Soldiers An Annual Event in
which our members help raise money for Cell Phone For Soldier's. 4 photos are
displayed. We recently earned a prestigious Award from their President for all we do
for this great cause!
14. Chapter 528 AVVA. Our AVVA is very active and this
page is designed for them so they can check it out and see what is happening specifically
for them in regards to our AVVA as well as the National AVVA. The AVVA Representative
writes monthly articles about what's happening in Michigan as well as nationally.

19. Cornel Osier's Ride To Hell, MI. Every year Chapter
528 bikers get together with many more bikers and ride to Hell, Michigan. 3 photos of the

20. Cruz'n 528 Car Show 2011. This is one of more important events
which take place every Wednesday from May to the end of September. This event is one of
our Chapter's best fund raisers. This web page includes 71 photos with a link to a few
special slideshow with hundreds of photos.

25. Essay Scholarship Contest 2011. One of the most enjoyable
events which our Chapter is involved with is our Annual Essay Scholarship Contest. Members
as well as family members are invited to compete in a writing contest. Each year three
college students are fortunate enough to win prize money and a Special Certificate. The
total prize money is $1,500.00. This successful event is participated by nine of our
members. Three members are the Co-Chairs and six members volunteer to be judges. Viewers

26. Essay Scholarship Contest 2010
27. Fall Festival 2011. The Fall Festival is one of the more
enjoyable events which our Chapter gets involved with during the year. 30 photos are

29. Fishing Derby Wayne County 2011. Every year our Chapter
along with Wayne County Parks and Recreation offer residents of Wayne County the chance to
fish for newly stocked Rainbow Trout. This annual event is one of the most enjoyable of
the year. Literally hundreds of kids from ages 1 month to 12 years are allowed to fish for
free - without a fishing license. Three prizes are given to kids from three different age
groups for a total of 9 prizes. A member of our Chapter also donates his time to mounting
the largest fish caught. This event is usually shown on local TV stations. Take a look at

33. Flag Day Independence Village. This is an annual event
in which our Chapter 528 Color Guard takes part in formally raising "Old Glory" on Flag Day in
Plymouth Township. New June 15, 2011
34. Flag Retirement Ceremony. A continuing
Chapter Program/Ceremony since 2008. Our Chapter is extremely involved with identifying
worn out and torn flags in our area. We continually purchase U.S. flags and offer
residents within our area the chance to trade in their worn out flag in exchange for a new
one. All flags are made in the U.S. The local Boy Scouts help out in this program. Shown

35. Friday Fish Fry. During the Lenten Season, our Chapter
helps out our VFW in assisting with the preparation and serving of fish and chips. 76

55. Members of the Year. Every year our Chapter
honors members who have gone beyond the normal duties and are honored as Members of the
Year. We honor: Chapter Member of the Year; Chapter Officer of the Year; Board Member of
the Year; and Associate Member of the Year. The 5 photos are from our April 11, 2011
General Membership Meeting.
56. Members' Service Photos. This page is a collection of
service photos which our members have submitted of themselves being photographed when they
were in service. We currently have 86 Members' Photos, as of June 15, 2011, being
displayed out of our 213 membership. Besides the service photo we include the branch of
service and the year the photo was taken.

information by our Chapter's State Delegate. Our member reports on what the VVA State

59. Monthly Calendar VVA 528. Includes a brief listing of
all of our events and meetings for the upcoming year - the next 12 months. This page is
updated at least each and every week.
60. "The Moving Wall". The Moving Wall Web Page is dedicated
to the "Moving Wall" which moves around the country. 59 photos are displayed showing how
Chapter 528 members have helped with the putting up the wall and guarding the wall during
the two times the "Moving Wall" has come to our area in Michigan. Chapter 528 is being
honored this year with having "The Vietnam Movings Memorial Wall" being shown between June
15th - June 19th. Our Chapter will be present to assemble and disassemble the "Wall". Our
Honor Guard and Chapter members will also be present for the "Opening Ceremony" and the
"Closing Ceremonies". We will also assist each and every person who visits the wall by
escorting them to the wall and answering their questions. We will also man a couple of
computers which will assist in locating where a person's name is located on the "Wall".
61. Newsletters (Homefront). Our Newsletter Page is one
of our most important web pages. The page includes our "Online Version" E-Newsletter of
the past two years. Every month we have the ability to send out a monthly Newsletter to
all of our members by way of an email or by way of postal service. During the past 18
months we have encouraged as many members as possible to opt out of receiving their
newsletters by way of the postal service and chose to receive their newsletters by email.
The email version is in color compared to our black and white postal version. We have
saved a lot of money with having newsletters available either by way of email or online
(E-Newsletter). Instead of printing out 250 copies and mailing out more than 225 copies,
we now only make 80 copies of our newsletter and mail out only 54 copies. Our online
version (E-Newsletter) is generally longer in length. Our online newsletter usually
includes several "Flyers" and a couple additional pages of photos from our past month's
events and activities.

(last couple of months). Many times it has links to dozens of photos which were taken at
each of the events. Sometimes more than one hundred photos may be seen from this web page
depending on the time of the year. Also, it is possible for viewers to see even more
photos by clicking on linked names which then sends the viewer to Kodak's Gallery Photo
Webpage which many times have as many as 50 more photos of the event. After a couple of
months, the Recent Events and Photos page goes to another of our most important Webpage
"Yearly Events and Photos Web Page." (see number 60). This webpage is updated nearly
each and every day!
70. Remembrance Run. Remembrance Run shows how our
Members every year take a journey to honor the memories of our members who most recently
passed away. This page currently has 22 photos of our members taking part in this yearly
event.
71. Run To The North Wall. This page was created to
honor the Canadians who took part in the Vietnam War. Plymouth, Michigan is only 30
minutes away from the Ambassador Bridge in Detroit, MI. The bridge connects the city of
Detroit to the city of Windor, Ontario, Canada. Every year many of our members go across
the Detroit River into Windsor, Canada in order to part in this Ceremony. 7 photos help to
show our involvement.
72. Salvation Army Bell Ringing. Chapter 528 participates
in helping out with "Ringing the Bells" for the Salvation Army. On this page one may see 6

80. VA Hospital Ann Arbor, MI Christmas Program. By far one of the most rewarding and enjoyable nights of the year. Chapter 528 teams up with VVA Chapter 310 (Washtenaw County) to help bring Christmas cheer to more than 100 patients at the Ann Arbor Veterans Hospital. 26 photos and three videos show how our Chapter helps to bring Christmas cheer to our fellow veterans at our local VA hospital.

87. VVA Michigan State Convention. Our Michigan State Council had a State Convention in Dearborn/Detroit Michigan in early summer 2010. Chapter 528's Color Guard performed both at the Introduction Ceremony and the at the conclusion of the Convention. Twenty photos were taken during the Convention.
